After years in the edit suite, I started directing my own work. I'm interested in character-driven stories. Things that feel lived-in and specific. I bring the same attention to structure and pacing that editing taught me, now applied from the very start of a project.
I've been editing professionally since 2013, across live broadcasts, esports, short films, and commercials. Emmy® winner (42nd Sports Emmy). Clients have included Viacom, the Olympic Games, Electronic Arts, Riot Games, and Argus Productions.
My name is Jeremy van der Pas. I'm an Emmy®-winning editor turned film director from the Netherlands. I started cutting film as a student at the University of Amsterdam in 2013 and never really stopped.
Over the past decade I've worked across Europe for some of the biggest names in broadcast and entertainment: Viacom, the Olympic Games, Electronic Arts, Riot Games, Argus Productions. Short films, live events, esports. Each with its own rhythm, its own language.
Now I'm directing my own work as well. The same instincts that shaped my editing (structure, pacing, what to leave out) now inform every stage of a project, from the first draft to the final cut.
From development through production to final delivery. I direct with an editor's instinct, thinking about structure, rhythm, and what the cut will need before we ever roll camera.
Narrative films, documentaries, short films, and series. I edit for story first. Finding the structure, the pacing, the moments that make something stick.
Live event editing, broadcast production, and sports coverage across Europe. Over a decade of high-pressure, high-stakes work on projects that air once and can't be redone.
